Enjoy God's Presence

Enjoy God's Presence

Sometimes frightening things happen—
to believers and unbelievers alike.

So if God’s presence does not always prevent difficulty… how does it quiet our fear?

The answer is not found in the absence of trouble—but in the certainty of His presence.

The psalmist declares:

“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence?” (Psalm 139:7)

Whether in the heights or the depths…
in the light or the darkness…
He is there.

Always.

And the promise is repeated:

“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)

God’s presence is not occasional.
It is not fragile.
It is not dependent on how we feel.

It is absolute. Unchanging. Constant.

But here is where we often struggle: While His presence never changes…

our awareness of it does.

There are seasons when His nearness feels unmistakable—when we can clearly see His hand at work.

And there are seasons when the evidence seems faint… when we search for reassurance and find very little.

But this is not absence.

It is invitation.

Sometimes God allows us to see many “prints” of His invisible hand. Other times, He lovingly withholds them—not to distance Himself, but to deepen our faith.

When Thomas needed proof, Jesus responded:

“Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:29)

God does not love us less when we see less.

He is teaching us to walk differently.

Not by sight… but by faith.

And this kind of faith is often formed not when we are delivered from frightening circumstances… but when we are carried through them.

“You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy…” (Psalm 16:11)

Before we can enjoy His presence, we must first settle this truth:

He is with us—whether we feel it or not.

If we constantly seek signs for reassurance, we will remain unsettled.

Signs can be misunderstood… even counterfeited. But God has given us something far more reliable:

His Word.

His Word is the unmistakable imprint of His invisible hand. And it tells us—again and again—He is here. When we choose to believe that truth, something shifts.

We move from striving… to resting.
From searching… to enjoying.

A Look Back — Life in Covenant

This week, we’ve seen the beauty of living in covenant relationship with Christ:

This is not theory. This is the life He has already made available.

The Word of God does not come to condemn—it comes to set free.

Truth liberates.
Lies enslave.

The enemy works to bind through deception. Jesus Christ sets the captive free through truth.

Any stronghold we carry is rooted in something we have believed… that does not align with what God has said.

But God’s truth stands:

He is able.
He is faithful.
He finishes what He begins.
He works all things for good for those who love Him.

So the invitation remains:

Let truth take its rightful place.
Let life in covenant relationship give you peace.
Let His presence become your resting place.

Reflection
Are you relying on what you feel… or standing on what God has said?

Prayer
Lord, anchor my heart in truth. When I cannot see or feel Your presence, remind me that You are still there—unchanging and near. Teach me to walk by faith, not by sight, and to rest in the certainty that I am never alone. Let Your presence become not something I chase, but something I deeply enjoy. In Jesus' name and for His glory, amen!
