On the Mountain: He Prayed

“He went out to the mountain to pray, and all night He continued in prayer to God.” (Luke 6:12)

This is Part 2 of a 4-part series. Pray and Meditate as you read each part, listening to the Voice of God speaking to you. I'm excited to share this with you! -Jan 🌻. (Click here to read Part 1)

On the mountain, Jesus withdrew. He had a major task to undertake, but first He drew away to pray.

Away from the crowds.
Away from the demands.
Into communion with the Father.

Mountains create space.

What feels like pressure may actually be an invitation—to step away, to be still, to seek Him more deeply.

The higher the climb, the greater the need for prayer.

✨ Have you made space to meet with Him?

Prayer

Lord, this really spoke to me, especially when I read why Jesus drew away to pray at this particular time. His wasn't a casual prayer. The intensity of His prayer matched the enormity of the work He had been assigned to do. Help me, Lord, to make decisions only in Your strength and with Your wisdom, gained from spending time with You in prayer. Amen.
